Macaroni and Cheese

A quick, simple, and tasty macaroni and cheese dish.

Ingredients
- 1 box (8 ounces) of macaroni pasta
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 2 cups of milk
- 2 cups of shredded cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- ground black pepper to taste
Steps
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook the macaroni pasta until al dente for about 8 minutes.
- While waiting for the macaroni to cook, start making a roux that makes up the base for this creamy macaroni and cheese.
Start by melting the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add flour, salt, pepper and stir until smooth.
Slowly pour in the milk and stir until the mixture is smooth and bubbling.
- Slowly stir in the grated cheddar cheese until smooth and melted.
- Drain and stir in the macaroni into the cheese sauce until completely coated.
